From
March 3 - 13, 2006, 37 pilgrims walked
upon on the highlights of Our Savior’ sojourn led by
us with Fr. Benoit Wailliez as our spiritual director.
We ascended Mt. Tabor, sailed on the lake of Galilee (none of our pilgrims caught fish for our
dinner though!), walked in the Shepherd’s' Fields,
knelt in Bethlehem, made a prayer in Nazareth,
heard Holy Mass at the Church of the Miracle in Cana,
recited the Beatitudes on the Mount, tempted and
rode a camel at Jericho, put our feet in the Dead Sea,
watched a shepherd guide his flock, and felt the Passion of Our Lord
as we prayed in the Garden of Gethesmane.
Continuing
the experience of Our Savior's Passion, we
made the Via Dolorosa, put our hands where the Cross stood,
touched the stone of anointing, kissed the tomb of Our
Lord, as well as that of our Blessed
Mother's.
The mysteries of the Rosary
came alive in shrine and sanctuary,
especially when we visited Elizabeth's
(cousin to Our Lady and the mother of St.
John the Baptist) home. Certainly, Our Lord cannot be
forgotten in this area called
"the Holy Land," hallowed by His life, labor and love.
Many graces were received as well as many blessings that will last a lifetime and
which are certain to draw us closer each day to God.
Our next Lenten Pilgrimage to the Holy Land will be from March 6-18, 2007:
So, mark your calendar and walk in the footsteps of Our Lord during
Lent! |
